Summertime and the famous lemonade stand, it is a tradition that my kids look forward to each year. Yes, there is the squabble around who does what but they work it out, a lesson they will continue to build upon throughout their life.
My youngest is the entrepreneur in our family, he is all about the cash and earnings! He wanted to charge $1 per cup and also grabbed the 16 ounce cups and said we can charge $2 for these! I had to step in on the pricing and we were able to get him down to 50 cents! Here is a picture of our most successful stand, the kids could not believe how much they sold, this is a few years ago.
This years stand was in July and unfortunately, there were not many takers. As one of them said, we didn't even make 20 bucks! Even thou they are learning the lesson of earning, I love seeing their cute little chairs at the curbside and how they work as a team.
So when life hands you lemons, make lemonade! Before summer comes to an end, make sure your kids get to experience this tradition that generations have enjoyed.
There is nothing like cold lemonade on a hot summer day and the faces of those that serve is priceless!
